Geoff (party leader) on the result of the General Election.
"The only way Londoners will get the politics we want, the government we want, is if we have the right to govern ourselves."

Once again an English majority has imposed a government on London which people here didn't want.
Net, the Tories didn't gain even one seat here. In England beyond London they gained nearly 50.
The majority of Londoners voted to recognize the benefit the whole Union gets from working closely with our neighbors. We voted for a warmer welcome to those who come here to staff our health service and care for the vulnerable.
We voted to tackle the housing crisis and the climate emergency.
The choices that the UK's broken down politics offered us weren't perfect but we held our noses and did the best we could.
But a majority outside of London made a different choice. A consequence of that choice is that the Union will become even more disunited. Likely we are in the last decade of the UK.
When Scotland wins its independence and Ireland is united - and who can blame them for wanting that - London will be left behind. That English majority will become insurmountable.
Today is a sad day and a hard day for so many Londoners who have fought for something better.
This election shows that it is useless for Londoners to vote for progressive parties. England does not want progressive government; what London wants is ignored.
And we are only asking for what's ours.
Londoners are ready to tackle the housing crisis and the climate emergency; this city has the talent and resources to do so. We're ready to invest in our public services and strengthen our international cooperation.
But we won't be allowed.
The only way Londoners will get the politics we want, the government we want, is if we have the right to govern ourselves. We can only work together to build up our city for all its citizens once we are free.
We will have to demand that right; we will have to be fight for that freedom.
We know that now.
Londependence is going to fight for that freedom. We will stand with our fellow Londoners in demanding the right to decide our own future.
The capabilities and values of Londoners - set free - will make that future bright.
So rest up, enjoy the holidays, we have work to do in 2020.
